Internships
One of the major goals of The Leading Hotel Schools of the World is to bring students and hotels together and offer a variety of internships to students to gain practical experience within the Leading Hotels of the World. Leading Hotel Schools have mandatory training periods, during which students work in the hotel industry. These training periods enable them to practice the theory they learned in school, but also give them the opportunity to develop themselves as ‘future hospitality managers’.
Operational Internships

The main objective of these internships is to gain operational experience.

The internships are carried out in operational outlets, such as: Restaurant, Bar, Kitchen, Room Service, Stewarding (supervisor level), Front Desk and Housekeeping (supervisor level).

The placement preferably takes place in two or more departments.

The duration of the placement will vary from 4, 5 to 6 months.
Management Internships

The students are trained for a Supervisor or an Assistant Manager function.

The internship enables the student to get insight in Operational Management.

Internships in the Sales & Marketing Department, Human Resources Department or Financial Department can be arranged according to the student’s interest.

The internship includes research projects and/or shadowing of management.

The duration of the placement will vary from 4, 5 to 12 months.
Students…
-
are multilingual; they speak English and at least one second language.
-
are used to working in small groups, the students are team workers.
-
have gained operational and leadership skills during the course.
-
are guest orientated and can interact in multicultural environments.
-
are computer literate, e.g. Microsoft Office, Fidelio, Micros, etc.
-
have a strong academic background.
